Featuring Donny Most, star of TV series, Happy Days
Opens March 5th
March 5, 6, 8, 10 at 7:30
Donny Most, best known as “Ralph Malph” on the long running hit television show, Happy Days, brings the songs of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and more…. to life! Through his musical interpretations and creative arrangements, “Swing era” and “50’s Cool” are fused together into one very unique show! In addition to acting and directing, Donny has returned to his first love…. singing!
As a child, Donny wanted to be an entertainer, just like the actors in his favorite film, “The Jolson Story.” He studied acting, singing and dancing and got his first big break at age 15 when he became a member of a teenage musical group that toured the Catskill Mountains. At age 20, he landed the role of “Ralph Malph” in the TV series, Happy Days. Originally cast as a “stock jock” character, director Garry Marshall was so captivated by Donny’s charm and comedic timing, that he rewrote and transformed the part of Ralph Malph into the beloved class comedian that won the hearts of America.
In the two decades that have followed the success of Happy Days, Donny has appeared in numerous television and film roles, including EDtv, Follow, Glee, Love Boat, Baywatch and many more. He has also appeared in many musical productions, including Damn Yankees with Dick Van Dyke, Strike Up the Band, I Love My Wife, and many more! Throughout his long and varied career, however, Donny has never forgotten his dream to return to his Musical Theater days. He has always loved the standards/swing/big band style of music, so he created this show, “Donny Most, Mostly Sings!” He has performed it recently at Feinstein’s 54 Below and the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, as well as the Catalina’s Jazz Club in Hollywood… to great acclaim!
“Don’t mistake his one-man show for celebrity self-indulgence or stunt-casting: Donny Most can really sing.” ~Highlight Hollywood
“What a singing voice! What energy! Who knew? (Move over, Michael Buble!)” ~Huffington Post
“Actor/Singer Most blows the roof off of Vitello’s to sold-out crowd before taking his talents to New York!” ~The Los Angeles Beat
“His acting chops came in handy; his well-paced show spotlighted his ability to perfectly convey ballads.” ~Cabaret Scenes
“Most fills the entire room with a classic Big Band tone as warm as his demeanor.” ~Theater Pizzazz
“Whether performing Sinatra, Dino or Duke Ellington, Donny carries each note with grace and dignity.” ~The Hollywood Times
“Just as younger audiences have embraced Tony Bennett, while retaining his original fan base, so to it appears that Donny Most has tapped into that which keeps audiences coming back for more -- a love of good music. His Rat Pack quality seems to bring in audiences of all ages and backgrounds.” ~BROADWAY WORLD
I've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for 7 years, and just discovered Act II! My friend took me to their production of Xanadu last night and I just loved it! It was so creative and colorful, and the cast seemed to be having so much fun, too! The story is fast-paced, corny, with lots of humor, and the audience experienced gut-busting laughter from start to finish! KUDOS to the entire cast! What a FUN evening! This show is a MUST-SEE in Puerto Vallarta! I'll be back to Act II soon!
Had such a fantastic time at the opening night of The Sutton Lee Seymour Show. Took a handful of friends from our resort of young and not so young in ages, and everyone had a terrific time. The show is creative, incredibly entertaining, hilarious, jam packed full of toe-tapping goodness. Absolutely original. Highly recommended!!
If you have a short attention span and like to drink your entertainment (and/or tequila) from a firehose, Dueling Divas is your show. The rapidfire nature of the show adds to the fun and the jokes are a mile a minute. The hosts, bartenders and waiters are very friendly and the venue combines a well put together show with great ambiance, but not in a stuffy way. My personal favorite was Joanna's confused and stumbling Amy Winehouse followed by Chi Chi's high energy Tina Turner. Who wins the contest? Anyone fortunate enough to have a ticket.
The show was outstanding! So much crowd interaction one of the best Rocky Horror Picture shows I have ever seen Act II entertainment is an absolute must while you're in PV!
Fantastic!! A must see if you are a fan of the 60’s, “Mama Cass” was terrific. Well done presentation. We will definitely see again before the end of the season.
Six of us took in this wonderful show. Having been here for 4 years this was my first visit and will not be my last. The chairs are comfortable the room is small and intimate so every seat is great! You receive a bag of items with the play bill which are used in the show. The owner stepped in as the narrator and did an excellent job. What a great end to the evening to get up close and personally thank the cast for their wonderful talent! A must see show while here in PV!
This is our third time seeing Chi Chi and Joanna and they never EVER fail to disappoint - funny, quick witted, talented, topical and oh boy, can they belt!
It’s a guaranteed belly laugh of a show and utterly hilarious imitations of divas old and new. It’s equally a brilliant concept - the contest, the categories and the fact that they both end with the same Diva at the end is just sensational.
Bravo Dueling Drag Divas - a funny, fabulous, five star night out to put a HUGE smile on your face!
A group of us went and had a ball. The show is varied with loads of costume changes and props and they really can sing. Some numbers, especially, were really very very good. Worth going to see the finale in itself! Highly entertaining and a great theatre as well with a lovely bar and friendly service.
We have been coming to Vallarta year after year. Each time staying longer than before. We love it. After the beach, the tacos, the shopping, etc. we like to see entertainment and frequently check out the various cabaret shows in town. Our favorite place is Act II. Over the years we have seen many drag shows and quite frankly after awhile they all start looking alike. Delightedtobehere Drag 101 was a refreshing and unique look inside the world of drag. He/she came out onstage as a man and did the transformation in front of our eyes. How he/she sang and put on make-up and lashes simultaneously is beyond me. And he/she has a lovely singing voice. Funny, touching, informative, empowering. All the things you want in a show! I recommended this show to several of my friends. They all went and felt the same way. Keep up the unique style of entertainment Act II. We notice these things.
I have been coming to Vallarta for years and during that time we always catch several shows while we are there ranging from local for musicians to drag shows. Well this season we came for Christmas and NYE and we saw Christine Deaver for the first time! And it won’t be our last. In fact we are going back tonight!
She says she is not a drag queen but “drag adjacent”. Her show was a humorous look at the 80’s with music, comedy, and power house singing. Think Bette Midler meets Heart! She is witty, quick, sly, and can throw down a song whether humorous or touching. Good for the straight or gay crowd.
I won’t give it anyway but there may be thighmasters involved!
A must see show if you are in town!
We arrived at Act II were a late to get center seats. But, as we had preferred seats, we were able to get seats on the aisle in the fourth row, on the left side of the theater.
We were handed our audience participation package as we entered. Soon, the lights went down & we were dragged in to the vortex of Rocky Horror! This version was darker & grittier than any other version I have seen. Just the way I like it!
Kami Desilets opened the show with the energy of a tornado! She will always be Columbia in my mind's eye forever more. She was the show's choreographer. The dance routines were full of her energy. All the dancers & singers did Broadway in Puerto Valllarta. What a pro cast!.
Gabe Arciniega was obviously a seasoned professional on the stage. He would been as at home playing Auntie Mame as playing Dr. Frank in Rocky Horror. His timing was impeccable.
All the women & most of the men in the audience fell in love with Elvis Morales as Rocky! He looked like a golden Adonis in his brief gold lame costume & sparkling gold runners.
Jose Ramon Matinez was almost too handsome to play the nerdy Brad. But, I forgave him his good looks as he got nerdy down, perfectly.:)
The real surprise for me was MaryJo Nelson's portrayal of Janet. With her Midwest good looks, fair hair & skin, & trim dancer's body she brought a believable innocence to the rolel that I never quite believed in other productions. But, she got down to being naughty & gritty when it was required.
The only criticism I could make about the production is that there were not any fluffers to encourage audience participation. The other productions that I attended felt more like a party as the audience was part of the show. The audience at this production were just that. Hopefully, this will be rectified as the show is set to run for 3 more months. I highly recommend that you take a chance & do the time warp, again!!!!
ActII entertainment complex is well worth investigating. They work hard to present the best entertainment and a very enjoyable evening. We highly recommend including it in your entertainment plans.
Since mid-nov we've been there six times .. the shows were varied and very enjoyable.. in every case we have been glad we went. In the main room the PVR gay's men choir and some enchanted evening the room is comfortable and engaging for the productions presented, in the Red Room we have seen Paul Fracassi twice (different shows), Motown review and the dueling divas. The Red Room is charming and intimate. The performances were outstanding
Clearly the management is working hard to showcase a quality product with talented performers. The ticket office and staff are more than friendly and helpful
We discovered the theater last year and came back for two more shows, which we highly recommend, Rocky Horror Show and Dueling Drag Divas. Productions are directed and performed by locals with visiting acts. Entertain yourself and support community theatre.
My first time visiting Act ll and I was impressed. Friendly staff and very well organised, along with some hilarious commentary while being seated, made for an enjoyable night! The small venue was perfect and intimate to watch Steve Grand play. A great and welcome addition to Puerto Vallarta.
Although i have been to act II several times I really didn’t have a high expectation of what we would find when we went to Rogers and Hammerstein. All of expectations were exceeded With the quality of the singing! There really isn’t any staging so if you’re looking for a Broadway type show forget it; however if you’re looking for a very good cabaret experience in a theater setting, this is as good as it gets in PUerto Vallarta.
There are lots of live show options here in Puerto Vallarta, but one performer that I have gotten to love since seeing her for the first time last year is a wonderful drag queen named Sutton Lee Seymour.
Sutton is a funny, down-to-earth drag queen who has a fantastic singing voice, and is quick on her feet with the jokes. Her new show is her singing pop and broadway songs, sometimes parodies, sometimes not. All the singing is live, there's no lip-synching here and she's got an amazing voice! In between songs are jokes and funny stories. Sutton doesn't take herself very seriously and she's not afraid to make fun of herself, and that's what makes her so down-to-earth and approachable.
Sutton has had a big year in 2017 professionally, and we are so fortunate to have this rising star with us for the season here in Puerto Vallarta. Definitely go see her!
And by the way, you don't need to know broadway show tunes to enjoy her show. I'm not a show tunes person at all and I loved it!
Excellent show from great talent...cannot wait for the new show focusing on Tina Turner! Great energy, star quality...we are fortunate to have her perform in PV!
We went to opening night of Cesar's Eric Clapton show and to put it mildly it was AWESOME! If we lived in Vallarta we would be seeing every performance, can't wait until we're back. Cesar is a performer that truly has an amazing gift and enjoys sharing it with everyone.
I often check out the early shows at Act II in Puerto Vallarta as my evening entertainment (I'm usually on my own). Tonight's performance of Rocky Horror was a fabulous time, with a particular standout of Gabe Arciniega. His singing was crisp and clear. Every word and movement showed that he really knows the meaning of this show. Of course I was thrilled by the entire cast and performance, as I think was everyone in the audience (Rocky virgins and old pros alike). Usually I wait until the end of my trip to post reviews but I would hate for people to miss this show. Many of the cast are known locally and have their fans,so I won't go through the performers individually, except to say that I Ioved the latin Rocky and Brad really rocked those tighty whities. Thank you everyone for such a fun time.
This duo is an absolute must to see if you are visiting Puerto Vallarta in November and December......high energy, intimate, sensual.....all that is needed to make their show incredibly enjoyable......it is a show you can see over and over without ever tiring of it......they’ve put everything they have into it......not to be missed....
We went to see the 2017 season opener of “Us Two” Daniel and Noemi and the Band at the Red Room.
What an incredible show performed in a beautiful intimate setting. Talent, energy, emotion and fun all in one fantastic package.
Who needs to go to Las Vegas when one can see a show of this quality right in the heart of “Old Town” Puerto Vallarta!
This show is “must do” for everyone visiting this beautiful city; the show will leave you amazed and feeling “up”.
"Us Two" is a powerhouse when it comes to music. Greatly talented and personable, the duo offers hits from the 80's and 90's with an occasional nod to current hits. The Red Room itself has been renovated and is even more delightful.
My husband and I with friends went out to see the opening night of the Rocky horror picture show at Act II entertainment on the main stage. From the moment that show opened it was obvious that it was going to be a stunner. I've seen the show before in larger venues and in bigger cities, but this show was magnificent. The set design was one of the best I've seen, the actors and singers and dancers captured their roles perfectly. The audience was charged, clapping, whooping it up, laughing in the whole evening was just one great big barrel of fun. Act II entertainment, with the red room and the main stage and the lovely Encore bar is one of the best entertainment venues in Puerto Vallarta. I've seen many shows there and I have never been disappointed. I have my favorite performers as most people do, and I love the intimacy of the red room. And the main stage, well, it just keeps getting better and better and better.
This has to be one of the most fantastic set designs I've seen yet from Act2 entertainment! Given the popularity of this production, the producers have found a way to bring innovation and quality to a level unseen outside of big budget productions. The level of detail and visual effects are sure to please. Combine that with great coryography and costume design, the show wows the audience and entices you to be immersed into the enchanting time warp of Frankenfurter. Truely a show not to be missed! Way to go PV! Was a blast!
Diana Valeria Villamonte took Puerto Vallarta by storm last night. And this is one storm we can hope will never go away. Run do not walk to see her next show at the Red Room next Tuesday at 730. No doubt it will quickly be sold out.
I've been struggling to write something to capture the mood of the evening… Probably my most important contribution to this will be to say that I saw it last week (with friends) and I'm going next week (with other friends)! My husband, Gholi, loves the music and said, "When can we go again?
My husband and I just attended a cabaret at Act II. We were so excited to get to see three beautiful young ladies in the debut of "TRINITY!" This show featured the last three winners of the Voice of Vallarta singing competition, and they were great! I’m so excited to find such great talent here in Puerto Vallarta, and will definitely go back to Act II on my next trip!
As a full-time resident of Puerto Vallarta, I always look for things to do in the summer! Last night, my husband and I had the opportunity to see the fabulous first Thursday night show of Act II's "Spotlight on Vallarta" Summer Series! Danny Mininni, owner of Act II, told us that the series is designed to recognize and promote local talent during the summer season. So, local resident, Gabe Arcineaga, put on a show that could easily be rival any cabaret show in the U.S! Gabe is already a seasoned actor and he toured with Charo "back in the day," but this was his first performance in a one-man cabaret show setting! OMG!!
I have attended plays, groups of musicians in Stages and soloists in the Red Room and have nothing but a wonderful receptive time. Danny Mininni hosts a warm place to mingle with friends or make new ones while viewing top entertainment of many genres from all over the world, in addition to fantastic local talent. I urge everyone to check out this locale, as good as one would find anywhere. Puerto Vallarta s becoming a premier draw for music and acting fans.
We were looking for something unique and affordable to do in PV. We really enjoy local theatre/shows when we travel. The red room is an intimate space and staff were great. Show we saw with Mama Tits and she was a entertaining and motivational. Although we were only heterosexual couple it was a blast. Act II has range of shows available during higher season. I'd highly recommend checking this place out. We will return for future shows
This is such a bawdy good time! We have seen the Dueling Divas twice and Joanne's solo show once. They are great singers and fun entertainers! Costume changes and THOSE SHOES! What amazing range!
The time flew right by each time and I never wanted the shows to end! Laughed so much!
This is a definite stop each time we visit PV.
We first discovered Act II Stages in December 2015 on our first visit to Puerto Vallarta. We attended 3-4 evening performances in the Red Room that week -- comedy, singing, drag -- all good. We enjoyed it so much we returned to Puerto Vallarta in December 2016 and again went to Act II a few times. What a fun time! Highly recommend.
