Do Not Miss Rocky Horror At Act II, Let's Do The Time Wrap, Again!
We arrived at Act II were a late to get center seats. But, as we had preferred seats, we were able to get seats on the aisle in the fourth row, on the left side of the theater.
We were handed our audience participation package as we entered. Soon, the lights went down & we were dragged in to the vortex of Rocky Horror! This version was darker & grittier than any other version I have seen. Just the way I like it!
Kami Desilets opened the show with the energy of a tornado! She will always be Columbia in my mind's eye forever more. She was the show's choreographer. The dance routines were full of her energy. All the dancers & singers did Broadway in Puerto Valllarta. What a pro cast!.
Gabe Arciniega was obviously a seasoned professional on the stage. He would been as at home playing Auntie Mame as playing Dr. Frank in Rocky Horror. His timing was impeccable.
All the women & most of the men in the audience fell in love with Elvis Morales as Rocky! He looked like a golden Adonis in his brief gold lame costume & sparkling gold runners.
Jose Ramon Matinez was almost too handsome to play the nerdy Brad. But, I forgave him his good looks as he got nerdy down, perfectly.:)
The real surprise for me was MaryJo Nelson's portrayal of Janet. With her Midwest good looks, fair hair & skin, & trim dancer's body she brought a believable innocence to the rolel that I never quite believed in other productions. But, she got down to being naughty & gritty when it was required.
The only criticism I could make about the production is that there were not any fluffers to encourage audience participation. The other productions that I attended felt more like a party as the audience was part of the show. The audience at this production were just that. Hopefully, this will be rectified as the show is set to run for 3 more months. I highly recommend that you take a chance & do the time warp, again!!!!
